Chris and I sailed out of the club and it was really marginal for foiling for a couple of hours. Chris was practicing on his longboard and 9.5 and seemed to have a really good session with some fun puffs. The wind clocked slowly from almost S to NW during that time. Then, as the dinghy regatta finished, it filled in really hard from the NW with gusts in the low 20s. The wind seemed really turbulent and I just couldn't get in synch with it and decided to go have a rest. JB had shown up and was running around on his foildrive.
After a rest, I went back out after the wind seemed to settle down. JB came in and pumped up an 8. We had a marvelous session with winds maybe 8-15. Plenty of puffs to get off the water and get upwind; but you still had to be a bit careful in the jibes if you couldn't time it with a puff. I was able to pull off a number of "back-winded" jibes but one just slapped me straight off the board. That was a good time to consider the water has warmed considerably in the last week and a 3/2 was fine with me and Chris was on a shorty since he didn't have to get in deep to get going.
Came home and fell asleep while waiting for dinner to cook - I'm exhausted but really happy. (And, dinner turned out pretty well once I got back up off the couch. )
Edit: Just looked at the forecast temps for Monday. Looks like the water temps which took two steps up this past week are going to take a big step back.
In also. I think I'll do llsc.
