Great Event in the Caribbean!
Posted by: Anonymous on Monday, February 26, 2007 - 06:36 PM
trips
This summer the 21st editon of the Aruba Hi-Winds will take place. The races are held from June 27th till July 2nd. As usual the event will be at the Fisherman’s Huts on Aruba. The Aruba Hi-Winds is one of the oldest and biggest windsurf events in the world; it consists of 5 days of racing, a fully arranged entertainment program and lunch and dinners for all participants included. What’s not to like?

Note:
But there is more. Who doesn’t want to turn a perfect spock or kiteloop on bright blue water with a view of beautiful beaches, waving palm trees and the public cheering your every move? While the windsurfers do battle for the slalom title (including a few long distance races), the freestylers fight for the crowns that come with the titles of King-, Queen-, Prince- and Kid-of-the-Huts.
One more highlight of the Freestyle Sunday at the Huts is the show that the kiteboarders put on. Everything of course in perfect weather conditions, kept cool by a constant trade breeze. For Aruba’s wind statistics surf to http://www.windfinder.com/windstats/windstatistic_aruba.htm.

Will we see you on Aruba as a participant, enjoying your favorite sport under ideal conditions?
If you feel the vibe and want to come to the event or if you wish to combine the event with an unforgettable holiday, you are more than welcome as a participant of the Aruba Hi-Winds 2007!

Improvements Announced to Corpus Christi Windsurfing Site
Posted by: bpw on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 - 06:00 PM
trips
Corpus Christi is one of the windiest and warmest places to sail in the Continental US. The area's most popular windsurfing location is Bird Island Basin, 15 miles south of the city on South Padre Island. Bird Island has flat water and is a good place for beginners to learn or to imporve skills such as jibing.

Velocity Games, Corpus Christi: May 30, '06
Posted by: webguy on Friday, December 09, 2005 - 07:33 AM

Velocity Games U.S. Open Format Change

In order to have large numbers of sailors participate, it is important for sailors to know very early about event scheduling. I am writing you to let you know that there will be racing whether or not the Velocity Games/U.S. Open occur this May 30th in Corpus Christi.

A New Twist

The most important new guideline for the event will be scheduling (italics). Instead of "wind minimums", the races will start at 11:00, 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00. In each start time period there will be two slalom races and one course race. In the slalom class there will be M&W, slalom, surf gear, sport, Good Ole Boards, and other (long boards). In the formula/course races, there will be M&W, Open/Masters, Grand Masters and sport.

Holiday Party! Dec 18 chez webguy
Posted by: webguy on Tuesday, December 06, 2005 - 12:17 AM
events
More details to come but the ABC will be having its annual Holiday Party on Dec 18 from 5-8. From some idiotic reason, I've agreed to host it.... again. I'll never learn. We'll have food (Gene's donating a ham), drink, and the inevitable, never rivalled White Elephant Gift Exchange.

Please email william@fragakis.com if you'd like to bring a covered dish, dessert or salad.
