• This is an unmoderated chatroom, our club has no control over the content or participants. If you experience any difficulties or improper behaviour, let us know at abcspamwebmaster@windsurfatlanta.org (remove abcspam from address)
• Our monthly chat is scheduled for the 4th Tuesday each month at 9:00 pm Eastern Time. You may, of course, meet a friend here anytime and discuss our favorite topic: Windsurfing!
• If you have a question regarding connecting, etc., use the FAQ button on the chat screen. If someone is annoying or rude, use the "Ignore User" button.
• Enter your name or a nickname, if that's how people know you, in the "User Name" field.
• All other information requested is optional. You don't need to fill in anything if you don't want to. Just fill in your name/nickname and then near the bottom, hit "OK, Connect!".
• If you get a message asking for a password, choose a different nickname. There are thousands of chatrooms registered on the chat server and if you use a nickname used elsewhere by a registered user, it'll give you this message. Instead, use a real name or something likely to be unique.

Suggested Etiquette

1. Be polite, unless everyone knows you by a nickname, use a real one. Unless you really want to be introduced around the Holiday Party, beach or next regatta as "Dr. Can't Loop", "Mr. Neverjibe", etc. :-)
2. Be polite. Remember that it's easy to misconstrue written words without the aid of facial expressions or vocal intonations. Write with discretion and read with tolerance.
3. Be polite. Assume young kids are participating. They may be. If it's not something fit to say to your grandmother or clergyman/rabbi/priest, etc. then keep it to yourself. BTW, our agreement with the host server mandates we keep it clean.
4. Commercial matters relating to windsurfing may be discussed. Hot stock tips probably belong elsewhere.
5. Yes, there is advertising on the bottom of the chat board. If it annoys you, resize the browser window. If it REALLY annoys you, send $60 to the club so we can get a paid version that avoids it.
